In the 3rd September release of Edge, Assay Analysis has been included as an optional data analysis tool that takes your NCEA, PAT and OTJ data stored in Edge and presents it using an extensive range of filters in a colourful and graphical format. The data can be displayed in Teacher, HoD or School Leader centric views.
For example; Assay can show you how each of your students is going compared to their other classes, previous years' results and their data such as PATs..... Assay can also give you your current classes by student in a form which gives an instant picture for each individual.
NB: Assay is a separate 3rd party product that MUSAC has partnered with, then embedded into Edge. Not all features available in the demo will be included in Edge. The functionality available in Edge will be: Wizard, Global Dashboards, Growth Dashboard, My Classes Student Graphs, My Classes Graphs / Tables, All Classes Student Graphs, and Whole School Graphs / Tables.

MUSAC / Educa Partnership
Involving caregivers in their child’s learning journey is an important part of every child’s educational growth and development. To further enhance these opportunities MUSAC is delighted to announce a partnership with Educa, a company that provides an interactive online web-based portfolio with enhanced capability to collaborate between school, students and caregivers. We are extremely excited to be able to offer our schools access to this world class tool.
Educa is a New Zealand based education software company that has developed a student portfolio solution specifically designed to connect caregivers to their child’s learning environment. They initially developed the student portfolio for the Early Childhood Education sector, however due to the success they have had they have been asked to make it available to the school market. At present Educa is used in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and the United States.
One of MUSAC’s first schools to use Educa was St Mary’s in Rotorua. Team Leader Karen Tabuteau explains how they are using Educa and what a difference it has made:
"Educa is exactly what we have been looking for. We've tried a number of options for sharing learning and engaging parents and this is by far the best. It's simple to set up and use and our teachers love it. Can quickly and easily add links to curriculum and key competency goals and families can also post learning stories. Most important of all - our parents love it and are engaged in their child's learning”.
If your school is interested in strengthening the collaboration between your school and caregivers and would like to know more about Educa please visit their website (www.geteduca.com) or email either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org(Shaun Croskery).
